New Blog – Vacant Valley

Fairly newly established Melbourne record label Vacant Valley have a new blog, they have some quality stuff up there including free downloads to past releases from PoPolice, Penguins, Bang! Bang! Aids!, Pop Singles plusmore. Pete is already racking up quite a mighty fine set of releases including the Pop Singles 7″ (which is great) and the newest Little Killing EP (which I’ll buy tonight when i get home from work because they are my 3rd favourite band from Melbourne behind Agents and Penguins) plus more in the works. On a side note Vacant Valley also have heaps of Lesstalk stuff in their distro made available to Melbournefolk.

Let Me Down Jungleman, Gently, have their new EP titled Nonchalant available for free download from their Bandcamp website. Newly recorded and mixed and sounding great, for fans of Hira Hira and Pockets. They have recently made the move from the south coast to the big smoke of Sydney, and are playing this Saturday at Jura Books, Petersham with Crouching 80s Hidden Acronym (also new to Sydney) and the Origami Girls.

Halal, How Are You? and the (temperamental) Pocket are playing at the Vanguard on the 5th of august. It may seem a little early to be posting this but I am just too damn excited. They will also be playing with the Lillies and Sleep Dept.

Id also like the state that this is not the self proclaimed ‘infamous’ Mathew Vaughn of Anal Discharge ‘fame’. It is David K. Smith of Matt Vaughn diaries/Pocket/Skippy FAME. I thought this show would be a great first post as I am overly excited to play with Halal.

The EightySixKillers site has been into the shop for some Xzibit style pimping. And is now open for all you folks to check out! It has all sorts of little bit and pieces in there, I have only brushed the surface so can’t comment much but it looks sick.
