Tonight: Sydney grindcore pub crawl
If you think Sydney has no grind scene I would like tonight to be one of the many examples to prove you are wrong. Both key writers for this blog, Lachlan and myself are both putting on competing grindcore shows tonight, giving you a "choice" to get your grind fix. And if you don't like the sound of either of those gigs, then why are you reading our blog? Don't worry, if you play your cards right you can catch both (hopefully).
1st Stop - Black Wire Records
At Black Wire Records Cyberne, Japanese cybergrind and Melbourne's DEAD are playing with locals Nunchucka Superfly, Battle Pope and Video Nasty, that will kick off round 7pm. So far all reports are that Cyberne are freaking bruuutal.
After Party - The Townie
Immediately after being punished by Nunchucka Superfly I recommend hitting up The Townie in Newtown for The Worstmn and Michael Crafter, supporting the excellent Reverend Jesse Custer, brutal spazz grind from Canberra who are launching their EP tonight.
The EP sounds freaking awesome, and this will officially be their first show in Sydney, so come catch em while they are still wide eyed and bushy tailed. A perfect after show hang for more grindcore and partying just in case a single show of excellent grind wasn't enough. A busy night of blastbeats.
