I know most of you think that when Anal Discharge broke up in May of 2008, their frontman Matheson Vaughn - no doubt unable to contemplate a life without the limelight he so desperately chased for so many years - committed suicide; most likely due to a overdose on a bizarre cocktail of MDMA, shampoo and a broken heart.
In a story that is sure to be picked up by A Current Affair as a tale of revival, hope and persistence, Mat debuted his brand new band Michael Crafter last Saturday night to a group of disinterested 19 year olds.
Michael Crafter are a very punk-y, grinding powerviolence two-piece, featuring Mat on guitar and vocals, and Dave on drums and vocals. They play short, fast, intense and inexplicably pissed off music in the vein of Iron Lung and Agents of Abhorrence, and plan to record a demo sometime in the near future (for which they have enlisted me of all people).
In any case, I was at hand to record first-hand the bizarre violent outburst that was Michael Crafter's first live show. Please enjoy. Or don't.
A few short hours later...
In the spirit of Faith No More and Alice In Chains comes Newcastle shit/punk group Anal Discharge's long-anticipated reunion.
And by 'long-anticipated' I mean 'holy shit I prayed to the Lord my God that I would never have to suffer Anal Discharge again'.
And yes; Mat IS dressed as a banana.
Why wouldnt he be?
If God Invented Head He Must Be Very Good At It
Since our Grindslaughter demo is available for download (recorded at the start of 2007) , I figure we might as well throw up these recordings too.
I recorded and mixed these 4 tracks in my bedroom towards the end of 2007. At some point I was meant to release them as a 'Digital EP', but then we had some strange Malaysia record label interested in releasing them in a professionally printed 5 way split CD with a few cool bands (Collision from the Czech Republic, The Arson Project from Sweden and Onanizer who are all the goods).
We got the audio mastered by Tim Carr and sent him the tracks, but for whatever reason he decided to never reply to any of the bands. We also used 2 tracks for our CULT AS FUCK split double floppy disc with Anal Discharge which is long sold out.
Hope you enjoy them. Feel free to burn and share them with mates.
Oh and if you have Facebook, fucking become a fan already. We won't tell anyone. Keep an eye out for our split CD with Krupskaya due out March/April 2008 on Grindhead Records too.

Nice hair mate.
Serie Una Di Collaborazione was originally released back in 2006 at a very limited run on the now defunct Squeamish Recordings. The new version is now available again and has a much cooler cover, through Lesstalk Records.
The entire album was recorded over a couple of months at Annie St Gallery, it marks a defining change in direction for Crab Smasher, finding themselves as a 2-piece for the first time after the departure of founding member Chloe Russell. During a period of uncertainty as to how to proceed Crab Smasher started jamming with their friends regularly, both live and at home. Each of the special guests brought their own skills and sensibilities to the table and enabled them to approach Crab Smasher in new and exciting ways. Featuring collaborations with friends and past members including Nick Senger (Castings), Sarah Humphreys and many more.
