The McKenna Bourbon Adventure – 164ft above ground

Posted by Matt

Exhibit A: Bourbon. Diagnosis? Tasty.Due to our awesomeness being fully cool AusGrind bloggers, our all round digital marketing genius' and no doubt in no small part due to our sheer masculine charm, Lachlan and I have been invited to the McKenna Airbar Media Launch. It occurs tonight in Sydney in the Airbar which is a restaurant that they hoist you up 40 metres into the air. I think the plan is for McKenna to fill you full of their sweet, sweet amber liquid and food and then let you loose with all the other cool cats (who no doubt will probably all be sexually maladjusted,  overweight bloggers; so its basically a standard night out for me).

And then we blog about it. Apparently the Brisbane event included Paul Mac as the DJ... now thats just fucked.

So tonight me and Lachlan are going to play the "Media Event AusGrind Style" aka see who can drink the most free bourbon courtesy of McKenna in an hour (educated guess: Lachlan with 15-to-1 odds). I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully with a blog including horrible drunken pics and general havoc (if you have dealt with a drunk Lachlan on a Bourbon binge you will know what I mean). Lets fucking hope they don't sell Jager Bombs.

Matt: not on bourbon

Should be a killer free night. We should get invited to more of these things. Now all we have to do is convince them that a grindcore-themed live bar 164ft in the air and suspended by a crane is a good idea.

Australian Grind Music Blogs

Posted by Matt

MWAfter writing a bit about that Patholorgy blog I realized that I subscribe to over 200 blogs and podcasts and shit. So i thought I might let give you a bit of a rundown on my favorite blogs and music heads and shit. But as this is all about grindcore and music I'll stick to those blog's that have some relevance to the Australian grind scene.

Blogs are an awesome source for illegally available music that is update weekly, sexbeergrindcore has a lot of gore bands uploaded CD's and every now and then he puts up some shit that I really end up enjoying. Heaps of that sorta stuff for hardcore as well, if its your thing (i know its mine). Australian metal is dominated by OzMosh and gives info on all Aussie only metal. I'm pretty sure its run by Prime Cuts.

Ryk Weston does some awesome interviews with big name international grinders and although hasn't put out any new stuff lately assures me he will. Terrorizer always has good grind news.

Other Good Read's
The Leakage Channel keep my up to date with the before it comes out music and old rare shit. eg the yeahs and the boys. Gotta stay nerdy, fuck Dilbert this is the shit. College style writing from a big breasted Jew is funnier than you would think. And this one is daily awesome.
For a full list go fuck yourself.
Regards, Matt.
