Brazenly doing the studio thing

Posted by mothereel

They can't do a meme properly, but an EP..? Sure!

Brisbane-fellows, Brazen Bull, have reformed and are recording an EP!  Some photos have emerged, no video has surfaced yet and it's too early for audio.  Be patient child.

All Are Equal In Death Mini-Tour

All Are Equal In Death Mini-Tour

Uniting under their respective aspects of Extreme Metal, 3 hideously misguided bands are hitting the road and damaging audiences over 1 weekend.  Returning from Queensland are the ever jarring and schizophrenic Brazen Bull, to be offset by reformed 90s doom legends Cruciform and Blue Mountains based dissonant oddities Mother Eel.  The mini-tour will see all 3 bands stop off at Wollongong, Sydney and Ourimbah, on the Central Coast.  There they will be complimented by locals: Hawkmoth, Nobody Knew They Were Robots, Corotted, Alf Stewart & Postal.

Having pioneered the Australian Death/Doom style in the early 90s only to break up before their time, Cruciform have reformed and are returning to the live scene after way too long.
Playing their last series of shows with the current line-up, Queensland’s technical Death Grinders Brazen Bull return to NSW to show off their bass player Adam before he calls it a day .
Boasting new songs and merch, Avant-garde Death Metallers, Mother Eel will be exhibiting a re-arranged line-up.  They are now a fresh 4 piece but just as cacophonous, caustic and discordant.

Kicking off the tour will see the trio joined at Dicey Riley’s Hotel in Wollongong on the 22nd of March by Sludge negotiators Hawkmoth and Math worshipping Nobody Knew They Were Robots (NKTWR).  The show then moves into Sydney on the 23rd of March, where old school Death Metallers Corotted open up the night at The Agincourt Hotel.  The tour draws to a close on the 24th of March at an All Ages extravaganza in Ourimbah on the Central Coast.  Rounding out is this All Ages Show at Sohier Park Community Hall are NKTWR, Alf Stewart and Postal, who have recently released a split with Office Jerks.  Sunday is strictly a no drug or alcohol allowed event.

Posted by Lachlan

thedowngoing ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS Winter Tour 2012Over the years Sydney 2-piece thedowngoing have proven to be one of Australia's darkest, nosiest, and most chaotic grindcore bands. The dastardly duo are set to release their newest aural atrocity "ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS" next month.

The 12 track, 10 minute noisegrind experiment will be released via “Cancerous” Slimline CD and be available for streaming/purchasing/pirating at thedowngoing.blogspot.com from Friday July 20th, 2012.

Press release follows:

Sydney grindcore 2-piece thedowngoing are set to release their newest aural atrocity "ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS"

The 12 track, 10 minute noisegrind experiment will be released via “Cancerous” Slimline CD and be available for streaming/purchasing/pirating at THEDOWNGOING.BLOGSPOT.COM from Friday July 20th, 2012.

After the 2011 release of their Untitled EP mini-CD, thedowngoing have caught the attention of many in the grind community, including AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED vocalist J. RANDALL, who digitally re-released the EP on his own label GRINDCORE KARAOKE.

thedowngoing would go on to be awarded the title of BEST RELEASE OF 2011 by GRINDTODEATH.COM and 7th by GRINDANDPUNISHMENT.BLOGSPOT.COM "...Untitled EP shows the band reaching new, dizzying artistic heights."

"ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS" builds on the platforms laid by 2011's Untitled EP, refining and pushing thedowngoings' unique sound further. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Jono Boulet (Jonathan Boulet, Snake Face) "ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS" is a vicious listening experience as thedowngoing teeters on the edge between grindcore and complete audio collapse.

And what better soundtrack to the harsh winter conditions, than to have thedowngoing venture out from their nihilistic cave dwelling existence to provide godless grindcore to the frostbitten masses on their 2012 WINTER TOUR throughout July and August.

Cuntscrape new album and Australian tour

Posted by Lachlan

What can be said about WA's debauched porno-grinding perverts Cuntscrape? Their tunes are as groove-laden and catchy as they are perverse and pornographic - taking Heartwork-era Carcass and the dark humour of Macabre while knocking up the rock (and cock) factor to 11.

The result is an outrageously infectious metal group who go above and beyond to rock in the name of porn. With members of Maximum Perversion, Pathogen and The Furor, who could expect any less?

Cuntscape have returned with a brand new full length Papsmear Campaign (GET IT?!?!??!) and promise "23 quim quivering tracks specifically written for that special speculum moment". Considering how ridiculously fun their last two offerings have been (thats their full length Thrush Bang Mania and their Split Roast split CD) I'm very much looking forward to cranking this at inappropriate volumes around the elderly.

Papsmear Campaign is out on Prime Cuts Music on Novemeber 27th, 2009 - which is also the date which launches their national tour (including a run with Grindhead Records' and 666 Entertainments Slaughterfest III in Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle).

Cuntscrape Natioanl Tour Dates
Nov 27th – Amplifer Bar, Perth with Claim The Throne, Gallows For Grace & Nexus
Dec 11th – Monstrothic @ Rosies, Brisbane – with The Dead & Brazen Bull
Dec 12th – The Del Plaza, Southport, Gold Coast with Meat Grinder, Hate Disciple
Dec 13th – Cleveland Memorial Hall with Defamer, People Die, Cross The Lips Of Grace, Aversions Crowned
Dec 17th – Hamilton Station Hotel, Newcastle – SLAUGHTERFEST III
Dec 18th – The Basement, Canberra – SLAUGHTERFEST III
