East West Death Grind Fest 4 at The Valve Bar, Tempe

Grindhead Records Presents East West DeathGrind Fest 4!
Saturday the 1st of December at The Valve Bar, Tempe.

Consistently showcasing Australia's best Death Metal and Grindcore bands over the last 3 mini fests, the line up for this year is definitely no exception.
Heading up from down south for the first time in over 6 years is the legendary Intense Hammer Rage! Now a 4 piece with the new addition of a vocalist adding to the already heavy duty tech grinding arsenal.
Co-Headlining the Event is Australian blast masters The Kill! Their infamous live set of 1 pedal metal is sure to absolutely tear your face off!
Rounding out the line up is the mind altering Odiusembowel from Victoria, the death metal merchants Laceration Mantra from Queensland, Canberra's death/grind contingent: Wretch, Throat Of Dirt & Inhuman Remnants, as well as Sydney's finest: Roadside Burial, Hell Itself, Mother Eel, New Blood, Burial Chamber, Exekute & To Engineer An Exorcist.
Doors Open 1pm.  Tickets were onsale, but are now closed.  You can still pay at the door.

Sydney Weekend Gig Guide

Posted by mothereel

I should be doing Grindhead things and to some extent this is related...  Here's a choose your own adventure/genre for Friday night.  Free Doom or Death and Grind in Tempe?

Adrift For Days release their 2nd album this Friday night.  It's getting great reviews and the show is free.

Grannyfist are launching their DVD.  I don't know who has seen it, but I'm told there's content on there that means it had to be created in another state.

There's also a gig happening at The Valve Bar on Saturday called 'Erkstock'.  Couldn't find a poster or event page.  It looks like it's more a hard rock thing for some guy's birthday.  Who are you not to attend?

So while those other dudelz are off around Australia and taunting the women of Asia with their possible arrival, perhaps those in Sydney should consider rocking up to...

A night of grinding death, blasts and noise featuring Daemon Foetal Harvest, Burial Chamber, Granny Fist, Corpsickle and Lower Back Problems (who I believe are quite new but feature members of numerous bands of yesteryear).

I couldn't find much of anything else out there to do this weekend.  There's just some sucky cover bands (both the band they are covering and the cover band itself suck) and boring 'indie' DJs.  Do you want to waste your time and money on those things?!?!?

Grindhead Records are also offering their release Gutted With Broken Glass for free to the first 50 people and all other releases on sale at the merch desk for a very tasty $5.  Bring a wad of cash and a bag.  For an idea of what CDs you may want to buy, head to the Grindhead site.

July 30: Slaughterfest IV featuring Fuck I’m Dead, Looking Glass, Mother Mars, Agonhymn and loads more!

Grindhead Records and 666 Entertainment present Slaughterfest IVFor me, annual underground stoner, doom, grind and metal festivals like Grindhead Records' Slaughterfest, 666 Entertainment's Doomsday and Little Bird Agency's Devil's Kitchen are often sure-fire shortlisters for the best gigs of the year. The promoters of each of those festivals usually have quite a knack for producing a smooth-running, well thought-out and well-promoted festival with just the right amount of big interstate names and variation of styles.

This years Slaughterfest - the 4th edition since the festivals inception back in 2007 - is certainly no exception. Infact, I honestly cannot remember a more impressive and varied line-up - nor a show I was more excited about. The value for money (15 bands for $20) is certainly nothing to scoff at.

Grindhead Records and 666 Entertainment have teamed up to bring us an incredible day, balanced out with a nice mix of grind, stoner, sludge, metal, crust, punk, hardcore and doom. If I can give you one piece of advice it would be to GET THERE EARLY. My gut feeling is this one is certainly going to sell out (you should be going out of your way to catch Fat Guy Wears Mystic Wolf Shirt anyway, they fucking RULE).

Without further ado, here is the line-up for Slaughterfest IV:
