Grant from Crab Smasher Interview
Browsing the interweb I came across this. An interview with Grant Hunter from Crab Smasher, this is a more serious side than I am used to. It also give a brief but recent review of their latest gig in Sydney a fortnight ago. Grant is a great guy, read. On a side not I haven't seen this blog before but it looks pretty cool, updated regularly from a noise music Sydney fan. I give it 3 stars!
Crab Smasher – Serie Una Di Collaborazione
Serie Una Di Collaborazione was originally released back in 2006 at a very limited run on the now defunct Squeamish Recordings. The new version is now available again and has a much cooler cover, through Lesstalk Records.
The entire album was recorded over a couple of months at Annie St Gallery, it marks a defining change in direction for Crab Smasher, finding themselves as a 2-piece for the first time after the departure of founding member Chloe Russell. During a period of uncertainty as to how to proceed Crab Smasher started jamming with their friends regularly, both live and at home. Each of the special guests brought their own skills and sensibilities to the table and enabled them to approach Crab Smasher in new and exciting ways. Featuring collaborations with friends and past members including Nick Senger (Castings), Sarah Humphreys and many more.

Crab Smasher Queensland This Weekend
Newcastle's Crab Smasher are touring Queensland this weekend with a quick succession of 3 shows in 3 nights. Crab Smasher features all members of Anal Discharge (except me), Nick from Polyfox and the Union of the Most Ghosts and my little sister, Marnie Elizabeth. They are heading up to Queensland to play with the likes of Monster Zuko, The Tango Saloon (ex Mr Bungle, Darth Vegas), Kitchen's Floor and The Cunt Offensive.
Crab Smasher are a really great noise and ambience band that have been around for about 6 or so years playing all over Australia. Their latest release "Impossible Monsters" is a 21 minute mini-album.
If you think you have seen them before well you are quite possibly wrong because they have recently extended their lineup to include 2 drummers and a bass player and create a more dynamic live set feel.
