Press release follows:

Sydney grindcore 2-piece thedowngoing are set to release their newest aural atrocity "ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS"

The 12 track, 10 minute noisegrind experiment will be released via “Cancerous” Slimline CD and be available for streaming/purchasing/pirating at THEDOWNGOING.BLOGSPOT.COM from Friday July 20th, 2012.

After the 2011 release of their Untitled EP mini-CD, thedowngoing have caught the attention of many in the grind community, including AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED vocalist J. RANDALL, who digitally re-released the EP on his own label GRINDCORE KARAOKE.

thedowngoing would go on to be awarded the title of BEST RELEASE OF 2011 by GRINDTODEATH.COM and 7th by GRINDANDPUNISHMENT.BLOGSPOT.COM "...Untitled EP shows the band reaching new, dizzying artistic heights."

"ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS" builds on the platforms laid by 2011's Untitled EP, refining and pushing thedowngoings' unique sound further. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Jono Boulet (Jonathan Boulet, Snake Face) "ATHOUSANDYEARSOFDARKNESS" is a vicious listening experience as thedowngoing teeters on the edge between grindcore and complete audio collapse.

And what better soundtrack to the harsh winter conditions, than to have thedowngoing venture out from their nihilistic cave dwelling existence to provide godless grindcore to the frostbitten masses on their 2012 WINTER TOUR throughout July and August.

Wadge on Grindcore KaraokeHeard of Grindcore Karaoke? Well, you should have. Run by vocalist of Agoraphobic Nosebleed J. Randall, this is a digital label that is completely committed to supporting incredible underground music.

So far the label has put out releases by the likes of Wadge, Maruosa, Death Grips, Gigantic Brain and Bong-Ra. Most awesomely, they've all been supporting the Australian scene by re-releasing Death-Cult Jock's West End Blast, Space Bong's The Death of Utopia and most-recently thedowngoing's Untitled. All are essential listening.

The best part? All of the releases are ABSOLUTELY FREE!

Pretty awesome concept, I know. J. Randall did a cool interview over here about his idea behind the label. Check it out! And go find Grindcore Karaoke on Facebook.

Night Hag - Gilded Age (Capitalgames Records)

Adelaide's Night Hag are a swirling rage of black-metal tinged dissonant grind and metallic Converge-esque hardcore. As per most bands that come out of South Australia, this one features members of 10,000 other bands - you might recognise names like The Rivalry, Space Bong, Hydromedusa, God God Dammit Dammit, Meat Wallet, Death-Cult Jock and so forth.

Anyway, the band have their new album 'Gilded Age' streaming on Soundcloud for one week only ahead of their upcoming tour to Adelaide Queensland, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne. The album is to be released on the awesome Capitalgames Records.

It rules. They rule. Check it out and get grind.
