Cannibal Corpse are touring. Blah blah blah.
After three long torturous years, death metals titanic kings, CANNIBAL CORPSE, return to Australia for a sarcophagic frenzy of sordid and demented proportions!
Their new ceaselessly hostile album release, TORTURE, proves that when it comes to combining unrestrained maliciousness, involved song writing and technical precision they still have no equal. The twelfth full-length of their inspiring twenty-four year career, the Floridian quintet have never sounded so vital, the album building upon the wealth of powerful, dark, and memorable songs comprising 2006's Kill and 2009's Evisceration Plague and pointedly upping the ante at every turn.
With blistering riffs, turbulent drums, ruthless and razored vocals, CANNIBAL CORPSE are THE pinnacle of death metal. Make no mistake. The sledgehammer force of the forthcoming live cannibalism will yet again prove this beyond any doubt.

Paradise Disintegrates is the extremely promising Grindhead Records debut from Wollongong's New Blood; the latest in a slew of death metal bands harking back to the glory days of extreme music.
Not afraid to put any limitations to their sound, New Blood experiment with all elements of aggression, speed, groove, brutality, melody and dissonance across various extreme metal genres. The most prominent echoes of Paradise Disintegrates are the relentlessness of Cannibal Corpse, the slamming groove of Devourment and the blazing technical blunt trauma attack of Suffocation - though New Blood are sure to keep their eye on modern extreme music developments, incorporating bursts of influence from newer acts like the Aborted, The Faceless and The Red Shore.
New Blood are walking the left hand path path to hone their bloody craft by introducing a flair for musicianship while always consciously keeping themselves firmly tied to brutality and excessive violence as if it were their lifesblood. From the first guttural bellow, brutal blastbeat and frenetic tremolo-picked riff it becomes immediately clear that New Blood are not here to fuck around; they are here to break bones, piece organs and shatter skulls by unleashing the most uncompromisingly brutal aural battering they are physically able. It is that unwavering dedication to constant rehearsal and expansion of their sound and skills - coupled with a consistent stream of globally encompassing hatred and malcontent - that makes New Blood one of the most exciting Australian death metal bands to look out for.

Made up of former members of Tribura, Symbiosist, Terrorust and current members of White Cell, Melbourne’s Hatchet Dawn combine influences as diverse as Metallica to Alice in Chains to Rob Zombie to create a new perfectly formed sound all their own - a darkly monstrous creation that is far bigger than the sum of its parts.
Hatchet Dawn head from the grave to horrify Queensland in June for the east coast stretch of the Faith In Chaos tour of Australia, playing three exclusive shows:
June 18 – Brannigans Tavern, Gold Coast
Level 2 Niecon Tower. Broadbeach.
June 19 – Sands Tavern, Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast
Plaza Pde, Maroochydore. Ttickets from sandstavern.oztix.com.au
June 20 – The Dead of Winter Festival 2009 @ Jubilee Hotel, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
470 St Pauls Terrace, Fortitude Valley.
Hatchet Dawn’s debut EP, Faith In Chaos, featuring bonus music video footage is available in stores and online now through AmpHead Music / The Orchard Australasia.
“Brutal, loud and fast but still with a hook-laden sense of groove, melody and power, this EP, like your first girlfriend, is a hell of a tease.” – Metal As F**k
Man Soundworks Touring just keep delivering the fucking goods! They have just announced a tour of Morbid Angel for Australia and New Zealand during May / June 2009! Thats their first tour of Australia SINCE 1996!!! This sounds like one I'm definitely going to have to fork out for. In my opinion no death metal band has been able to match the raw atmosphere of these originators. Supports TBA.
[ press release below ]
To see past the secure foundations of convention and into an entirely new state of being demands the strength, conviction and true sense of purpose possessed only by a chosen few. They are the innovators, the leaders, the ones who transcend perceived limitations. MORBID ANGEL have consistently succeeded in shattering the musical, spiritual and ideological boundaries of extreme music while unquestionably retaining their core element of brutal and inspirational excellence.
The world was introduced to the furious intensity of the Tampa natives in 1989 with the release of "Altars Of Madness". Twenty years and seven albums on, Morbid Angel still reign supreme on every level of this genre of music we call death metal. MORBID ANGEL finally return to Australian and New Zealand after 13 years to deliver us their excellence in the extreme!
