Brisbane-fellows, Brazen Bull, have reformed and are recording an EP!  Some photos have emerged, no video has surfaced yet and it's too early for audio.  Be patient child.

Wretch - The Senseless Violence EPOh yeah! It's time for some new Australian grindcore. Introducing Wretch - The Senseless Violence EP.

Wretch are reppin' catchy rockin' death/grind out of Canberra.

The band lists their influences as Napalm Death, Brutal Truth and Pig Destroyer - but I can certainly here a bit of modern death metal in the mix, too. Like Pig Destroyer, they try and mix up every song and never overstay their welcome. There are plenty of grooves and hooks admidst the violence.

Looking at the list of Australian metal alumni, I shouldn't be too surprised at the quality. They boast members from Psychrist, Futility, Infinitum and a bunch more (which also explains the cool death metal influence).

The dudes are aiming to have a full length out in early 2013, so watch this space.

Hooray for motivated and competent new Australian grind bands!

DOWNLOAD: Laeirs Self Titled E.P

Laeirs have release their new EP for free download on their Bandcamp. This skramz band are nice little freshies, existing in the exciting new Sunshine Coast scene comprising primarily of DIY garage and house shows, thus breeding their own style of hardcore, screamo and punk music. The songs show some nice variety in melody, moving seamlessly from slower moving stuff to straight up thrashy parts, but still being able to maintain their average song length under one minute.

This debut EP is a good first start for this productive band, and it always makes me happy when great new Aussie screamo bands start up, as we have lacked in the past 3-4 years much of the great screamo kicking round in the early 00's. Recorded by Chris Brownbill, the dude behind all the best new DIY Brissy recordings. I look forward to seeing these dudes live, screaming their little hearts out in a garage or house show near you.

Grindpalz The Reverend Jesse Custer are releasing their debut EP on Lesstalk Records, they will be having 2 shows in November to launch it. But in the meantime you can preorder your copy are listen to the "hit single" from their bandcamp. The Rev's EP was self recorded, mixed, mastered true DIY style. Brutal spazz grindcore and a live show to match, I always love seeing these dudes on "stage", its freaking AWESOME.

But for some serious postshows hit up the Townie, its also the first time The Worstmn have played outside of Newcastle, so they will be celebrating hard also. New Magrudergrind EP – Crusher

Posted by Matt

US grindcore powerhouse Magrudergrind have a new EP coming out this month. Since '09's Self Titled they have been pushing their sound past the staple grindcore DIY 1-mic mono garageband to include recording engineers like Kurt Ballau (Converge) and Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer) on their past album but I don't really have much info on this new EP to share with everyone except it's called "Crusher", will be available on 10" vinyl through Scion Audio Visual and hopefully someone will import a few copies around Aus to keep us southern hemisphere fans happy. I have my fingers crossed that they tour this one through Australia.
