The Mung are a Melbourne-based slam/groove/death/gore/grind band that actually sound pretty fucking cool. They've posted up a video of the group jamming out a few new songs.
Check it out. Hoping these guys come up to Sydney soon!
Nothin' Suss are a bunch of Albarians (all chain smoking, gun toting people who live in Albury, NSW, Australia) have released another one of their classic gore grind mayemic CD's. This time it is a CD split with Jacksonville band Queef Huffer. The CD was released on a US label called RottenRoll Rex, and I am assuming you can pick a copy up from them or the band. Its cool... do it!
The Nothin' Suss side of the CD is some fucked up pitch shifted gore grind, some pure awesome shit you can really get down and boogy to. The songs are broken up between the tracks with some fucked up samples from their extensive personal library of gay and transvestite porn. Originally intended as a full album the songs did not stand up as a single release and has to be made a split to balance out their turdcore music with some actually decent grindcore from Queef Huffer.
Each song is its own entity of digital bass and fruity lyrics mostly about their love for their long term girlfriends and obsession with each other ball sacks. On a more serious note the songs are awesome. I have always enjoyed this bands music, a completely obtainable groove grind that can get any sort of person up and dancing. The vocals from Angel Cake have come quite a way, choosing to layer various styles over each other to obtain a sound they are happy with. All the guitar and bass lines are very catchy. Rather than trying to show off with extreme metal riffs and ultra speed drumming they let their lyrics and songs do the talking. Reminding my much of Blood Duster's rockier side on Lyden Na.
One of the great things about this band is that they aren't just another computer band but they actually get out there every weekend and convince stupid venue owners to let them play their music to the 7 metal dude groupies who let them stick their peeny in their bottom.
The Queef Huffer side of the CD is better.
Grindhead Records is gurgling bloody chunks of excitement to be finally resurrecting the undead, flesh-devouring, maggot-infested ghoul that is Gruesome Stuff Relish's "Last Men In Gore".
This apocalyptic, gore-drenched re-release contains a plethora of savage, gut-munching tracks spanning this Spanish gore monsters inception in 2000 to the end 2003, containing the never released 7" "Last Men Alive", the now classic "Brothers In Gore" split with Brutality Reigns Supreme and five unreleased innard liquefying gems.
Gruesome Stuff Relish combine old school the 1990's death metal of Entombed and Carnage with the splattered gore sound of Impetigo and Necrony; and is craciously transmitted through the use of catch-as-fuck! Filthy distorted guitars, bone-shattering blast beats and thick, punishing brain-stewing bass-lines - all while conceptually paying homage to the classic zombie and cannibal horror films of the 60's, 70's and 80's, best displayed on tracks such as "Walk Among the Living", "Green Inferno" and "Teenage Giallo Grind".
"Last Men In Gore" is absolutely essential in any collection of a self-confessed metal horror freak! Gorehounds rejoice!
Available now from Grindhead Records for $15 AUD or $10 USD.
Super Fun Happy Slide have a new song up on their profile called 'Regurgitation of Giblet-Like Chunks of Pathologically Perverse Gore', and just between you and me it fucking kicks ass.
Check it out here at their MySpace.
The track is from their upcoming CD 'The Undislodgable Nugget Scenario'. The album is currently under going final mastering with artwork soon to be completed.
The 15 track CD should be released in a few weeks through Bizarre Leprous Productions.
Mang, listen to that snare! Awesome. Really hanging out for this album now. They've really managed to reproduce their huge live sound. It works really well for em.
