31/07: Sydney Weekend Gig Guide (Helm, Backyard Mortuary, Kill A Celebrity, Corpsickle)
I'm very hungover so I'll make this short and sweet. Friends; family; religion. These are the three things you must slay if you wish to succeed in grimness.

This is Kill A Celebrity's 2nd last gig. We're going to do a final one probably around the end of the year with our mates and then we can both go on with our lives and pretend this never happened. I'll probably be giving away our new split CD with Krupskaya too. Why not?

New Kill A Celebrity free download
Kill A Celebrity have put up free music on a number of social working platforms.
On their Last.FM page, The Killers Celebrity are offering free downloads for 6 of their 10 tracks from their new split with Krupskaya on Grindhead Records. On their MySpace page, they've posted 7 new tracks from various points of their illustrious career, including the genre-bending opus 'Cobretti'.
Check it out. They have 2 more Sydney shows left until this disband (a date for their 'farewell party gig' has not yet been set.
Oh and be sure to keep your eyes out for Mat's new powerviolence band Michael Crafter (in which he plays guitar and sings). You wouldn't want to miss that now would you?

Sydney weekend gig guide; Ebolie, Fuck Oath, Kill A Celebrity, New Blood, The Corps and more
This seems to be the weekend for Grindhead Records CD launches. Sydney beercore cunts Fuck Oath are launching their new album at The Lansdowne on Friday with a bunch of jerks and Kill A Celebrity and New Blood are launching their new releases at The Bald Faced Stag this Saturday with a bunch of jerks.
Friday night Fuck Oath are up first at a free gig at The Lansdowne Hotel. They are joined by Deathcage, A.V.O. and The Corps. How can you go wrong with a free gig, a good feed and a decent selection of James Squire beers? That kicks off at 8pm.
Saturday night Ebolie return to the stage after a 6 months hiatus - only to go back into a hiatus since their guitarist apparently needs knee surgery. Kill A Celebrity are launching their split with Krupskaya. They will be flogging off these splits for $5 and merch for $10. New Blood are also launching their new album. Also playing are Nobody Knew They Were Robots and Sound the Mute. Entry is $10 and that kicks off at 7:30pm.
That's two decent gigs to pre-occupy yourselves with. Enjoy.

Ebolie returns to crush all unbelievers
Ebolie make their return to the stage after 6 months of inactivity on Saturday May 9th to crush unbelievers and smite all who oppose them.
It all goes down at The Bald Faced Stag for a measily $10, and they may-or-may-not have their 3-way split CD with Beyond Terror Beyond Grace and Brainwash on hand for the occasion. Also appearing are Nobody Knew They Were Robots, Kill A Celebrity, New Blood and Sound the Mute.
The gig will also server as the 'official release party' for Kill A Celebrity's split with Krupskaya and 
New Blood's new EP Paradise Disintegrates as well as being one of Kill A Celebrity's final shows before they forever fade into obscurity (their 2nd last Sydney show to be exact).
Ebolie have been working on a full-length album since forever and is expected for release in 2017.

DOWNLOAD: Kill A Celebrity – The 2007 Anal Discharge Sessions
Since our Grindslaughter demo is available for download (recorded at the start of 2007) , I figure we might as well throw up these recordings too.
I recorded and mixed these 4 tracks in my bedroom towards the end of 2007. At some point I was meant to release them as a 'Digital EP', but then we had some strange Malaysia record label interested in releasing them in a professionally printed 5 way split CD with a few cool bands (Collision from the Czech Republic, The Arson Project from Sweden and Onanizer who are all the goods).
We got the audio mastered by Tim Carr and sent him the tracks, but for whatever reason he decided to never reply to any of the bands. We also used 2 tracks for our CULT AS FUCK split double floppy disc with Anal Discharge which is long sold out.
Hope you enjoy them. Feel free to burn and share them with mates.
Oh and if you have Facebook, fucking become a fan already. We won't tell anyone. Keep an eye out for our split CD with Krupskaya due out March/April 2008 on Grindhead Records too.

The Best of 2008 – Lachlan
The year is nearly fucking over and I am glad. I am done with this year. Despite that pessimism, there have been a few highlights. Doing this AusGrind thang with Matt has been pretty fun as we slowly build up our jerk base.
We really hit our stride this year with Grindhead Records and released some of my favourite albums to date; Gruesome Stuff Relish, Pathology, Beyond Terror Beyond Grace’s amazing full length, Long Pig and Sound of Detestation. We also put on an amazingly successful Slaughterfest II, with the Canberra show selling out at The Basement. Thank you to everyone who helped out or came to a show.
Ebolie recorded a full length album that I am very proud of. Kill A Celebrity managed to put together a split with my favourite chaotic grinders Krupskaya. I got to see Pig Destroyer, Meshuggah, The Mars Volta, Grave, Against Me!, Graf Orlock and many others, and even got to play with the mighty Insect Warfare - twice. Meanwhile local Sydney bands like The Crooked Fiddle Band, Hospital the Musical, The Bakery, Pirate, Squid, Club Consolador and Squat Club reinvigorated my love for the local music scene.
All I want to do with my life is play music and tour, so lets hope 2009 brings more of that. I’m a total fucking narcissist, so while here are my top albums of the year, expect a more verbose bat-off in the next few days with a description of each.
