Festering Drippage EP Launch

Posted by mothereel

From the cold climes of the upper Blue Mountains comes some of the most slamming, depraved Death Grind in the form of Festering Drippage.  After supporting Macabre, they have locked themselves in caves, masturbated furiously (presumably) and managed to crank out an EP.  This is their gig to show you why you need it.  Put together by Grindhead Records, this gig contains all kinds of current upcoming Death Metal and Grindcore bands.  I'm extremely excited to see Throat Of Dirt again after watching them display their grinding filth in Canberra a few weeks ago.

The facebook event page says this:

Grindhead Records Presents a night of death grinding havoc for the launch of Festering Drippage's mentally deranged debut EP 'Fungally Infected Fistathon'!

Darkhorse have quickly become a known for their fierce and blasting live show! With catchy as all fuck Napalm death styled riffs, blindly intense drumming and vicious vocals that all combine to annihilate the senses.

The steamrolling death metal machine, New Blood will be in the middle of their tour in support their brutally crushing debut album 'Subsistence'! A tight, precise and devastating performance is insured.

Exekute draw from the early 90's heyday when Death Metal took the classic thrash sound and morphed it into a more violent and potent force. Influenced by the likes of Benediction, Monstrosity and Malevolent Creation, Exekute will tear the Valve apart.

Throat Of Dirt are a new unruly mob out of the nation's capital bringing their dissonant grinding hate to Sydney for the first time.

Infested Entrails are no strangers to the Sydney death circuit. With a plethora of shows under their belts including supporting Macabre earlier this year, Infested Entrails are becoming a solid death unit.

Up first are the old new comers, The Holiday Project! Mixing a cohesive blend of sludge and grind! If ya dig Nasum, Cursed, Melvins, Eyehategod, Converge & Burning Witch, then The Project will deliver.

Festering Drippage 11.15 - 12.00
Darkhorse 10.30 - 11.00

New Blood – Paradise Disintegrates out now

Posted by Lachlan

Paradise Disintegrates is the extremely promising Grindhead Records debut from Wollongong's New Blood; the latest in a slew of death metal bands harking back to the glory days of extreme music.

Not afraid to put any limitations to their sound, New Blood experiment with all elements of aggression, speed, groove, brutality, melody and dissonance across various extreme metal genres. The most prominent echoes of Paradise Disintegrates are the relentlessness of Cannibal Corpse, the slamming groove of Devourment and the blazing technical blunt trauma attack of Suffocation - though New Blood are sure to keep their eye on modern extreme music developments, incorporating bursts of influence from newer acts like the Aborted, The Faceless and The Red Shore.

New Blood are walking the left hand path path to hone their bloody craft by introducing a flair for musicianship while always consciously keeping themselves firmly tied to brutality and excessive violence as if it were their lifesblood. From the first guttural bellow, brutal blastbeat and frenetic tremolo-picked riff it becomes immediately clear that New Blood are not here to fuck around; they are here to break bones, piece organs and shatter skulls by unleashing the most uncompromisingly brutal aural battering they are physically able. It is that unwavering dedication to constant rehearsal and expansion of their sound and skills - coupled with a consistent stream of globally encompassing hatred and malcontent - that makes New Blood one of the most exciting Australian death metal bands to look out for.

Sydney weekend gig guide; Ebolie, Fuck Oath, Kill A Celebrity, New Blood, The Corps and more

Posted by Lachlan

Shaneo of Fuck OathThis seems to be the weekend for Grindhead Records CD launches. Sydney beercore cunts Fuck Oath are launching their new album at The Lansdowne on Friday with a bunch of jerks and Kill A Celebrity and New Blood are launching their new releases at The Bald Faced Stag this Saturday with a bunch of jerks.

Friday night Fuck Oath are up first at a free gig at The Lansdowne Hotel. They are joined by Deathcage, A.V.O. and The Corps. How can you go wrong with a free gig, a good feed and a decent selection of James Squire beers? That kicks off at 8pm.

Saturday night Ebolie return to the stage after a 6 months hiatus - only to go back into a hiatus since their guitarist apparently needs knee surgery. Kill A Celebrity are launching their split with Krupskaya. They will be flogging off these splits for $5 and merch for $10. New Blood are also launching their new album. Also playing are Nobody Knew They Were Robots and Sound the Mute. Entry is $10 and that kicks off at 7:30pm.

That's two decent gigs to pre-occupy yourselves with. Enjoy.
