All Are Equal In Death Mini-Tour

All Are Equal In Death Mini-Tour

Uniting under their respective aspects of Extreme Metal, 3 hideously misguided bands are hitting the road and damaging audiences over 1 weekend.  Returning from Queensland are the ever jarring and schizophrenic Brazen Bull, to be offset by reformed 90s doom legends Cruciform and Blue Mountains based dissonant oddities Mother Eel.  The mini-tour will see all 3 bands stop off at Wollongong, Sydney and Ourimbah, on the Central Coast.  There they will be complimented by locals: Hawkmoth, Nobody Knew They Were Robots, Corotted, Alf Stewart & Postal.

Having pioneered the Australian Death/Doom style in the early 90s only to break up before their time, Cruciform have reformed and are returning to the live scene after way too long.
Playing their last series of shows with the current line-up, Queensland’s technical Death Grinders Brazen Bull return to NSW to show off their bass player Adam before he calls it a day .
Boasting new songs and merch, Avant-garde Death Metallers, Mother Eel will be exhibiting a re-arranged line-up.  They are now a fresh 4 piece but just as cacophonous, caustic and discordant.

Kicking off the tour will see the trio joined at Dicey Riley’s Hotel in Wollongong on the 22nd of March by Sludge negotiators Hawkmoth and Math worshipping Nobody Knew They Were Robots (NKTWR).  The show then moves into Sydney on the 23rd of March, where old school Death Metallers Corotted open up the night at The Agincourt Hotel.  The tour draws to a close on the 24th of March at an All Ages extravaganza in Ourimbah on the Central Coast.  Rounding out is this All Ages Show at Sohier Park Community Hall are NKTWR, Alf Stewart and Postal, who have recently released a split with Office Jerks.  Sunday is strictly a no drug or alcohol allowed event.

TONIGHT: Mish, NKTWR, FGWMWS and Captain Kickass at the Townie

I'm in the middle of recording guitars for the Serious Beak debut, so I'll keep this short and sweet.

A bunch of jerks are playing tonight the the Townie. The line-up ain't too shabby, and at $0 the price is certainly right. The Grindhead guys have organised this show, not sure if there will be CDs on sale.

  • Mish
  • Nobody Kney They Were Robots
  • Fat Guy Wears Mystic Wolf Shirt
  • Captain Kickarse and the Awesome

From 8pm. And someone just informed me that my guitar was out of tune on my last take. Fuck.

More details here:

Photographic evidence from the Ebolie Sydney Harbour boat cruise

Posted by Lachlan

Here is a short collection of photos from Ebolie's Sydney Harbour Boat Cruise on Saturday the 14th of November. The gig itself was absolutely amazing. We're hoping to get our hands on the gig footage that was filmed shortly - to be uploaded for your viewing pleasure.

I should probably give credit where it is due. Most of these photos came from the amazing photography work of Maragret (who also manages The Brain Studios). I would highly recommend her for any bands looking to get some live shots taken in Sydney. Nobody Knew They Were Robots played an awesome instrumental set (resulting in Clay's broken guitar below). And last (but certainly not least) a huge thank you to the guys of STE Promotions for putting on the show, and putting up all the cash and the risk that goes with hiring a boat. I sincerely hope we see more of these boat cruise shows happening.

13/11 Gig Guide: Ebolie Sydney Harbour Cruise

Posted by Lachlan

Wow... it's a pretty dead weekend for gigs in Sydney it would seem.

Down in Melbourne you've got Roadside Burial and Beer Corpse on tour, playing alongside Captain Cleanoff, The Kill, Super Fun Happy Slide and Garbage Guts over two shows. In Canberra you've got the almighty Looking Glass playing with LORD and the VeeBees (what an odd bill...).

In Sydney, the real deal is of course the Ebolie Sydney Harbour Boat Cruise on Saturday. This is the first boat cruise in recent memory; so get off your couch and support it. There will be alcohol, sun and grindcore against the background of Sydney Harbor (the Opera House and all that sentimental rubbish). Booze - of course - will be on sale, as will some light snacks and shit.

These things usually get pretty fucking chaotic. Should be a good'un. Also playing is Nobody Knew They Were Robots, Fallen Dominion and One Time Menace. Tickets can be purchased for $30 (yeah I know it's expensive) before we depart at 11:30am at Pyrmont Wharf (next to the Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour). Here is the Facebook event, nerds.

Sydney weekend gig guide; Ebolie, Fuck Oath, Kill A Celebrity, New Blood, The Corps and more

Shaneo of Fuck OathThis seems to be the weekend for Grindhead Records CD launches. Sydney beercore cunts Fuck Oath are launching their new album at The Lansdowne on Friday with a bunch of jerks and Kill A Celebrity and New Blood are launching their new releases at The Bald Faced Stag this Saturday with a bunch of jerks.

Friday night Fuck Oath are up first at a free gig at The Lansdowne Hotel. They are joined by Deathcage, A.V.O. and The Corps. How can you go wrong with a free gig, a good feed and a decent selection of James Squire beers? That kicks off at 8pm.

Saturday night Ebolie return to the stage after a 6 months hiatus - only to go back into a hiatus since their guitarist apparently needs knee surgery. Kill A Celebrity are launching their split with Krupskaya. They will be flogging off these splits for $5 and merch for $10. New Blood are also launching their new album. Also playing are Nobody Knew They Were Robots and Sound the Mute. Entry is $10 and that kicks off at 7:30pm.

That's two decent gigs to pre-occupy yourselves with. Enjoy.
