Tonight: Osaka electro-grind-violence at Consolador de Dos Caras!

Posted by Lachlan

MaruosaConsolador de Dos Caras is a great Wednesday night at La Campana (55 Liverpool St) - run by the lovable scamps over at dualpLOVER and Tenzenmen. These guys put on some extremely cool experimental bands, DJs and artists. The range of music they get in is truly remarkable, and is very much worth your support.

Tonight they've got some killer Osaka electro breakcore/grindcore/hardcore/gabber violence for anyone sick enough to dig that kinda music. I just heard Maruosa and I know I'll be trying to get my arse there. It sounds fucking amazing.

If you have any doubts about this post being appropriate for an Australian Grindcore site, just go watch the video at the end of this post and then promptly shit yourself.

Maruosa (JAP): French from the This Is Not Art festival. Morbidly cut up, edited death throes screaming, sonic head banging, blast beats and breaks.

Volzoy (JAP): A breeder of hard beat with layer harmonics in jungle, drum n bass and hardcore.

Numb'n'Dub (JAP): The new Japanese breakcore: speed blasting electronica screamo and scrap melodic metal into brutal hip hop. Insane blasts.

Go Genre Everything (VIC): heavy bass deep marine foam splash of grunted heavy power blands such as tuflygagagash and thrudmuscle, though, have now taken a trip to the far future with new shoal flock bleats of regular blend mineral rich rock and roll with a scented tinge of cola occasional lounge tweed... what?

New Kill A Celebrity tracks online!

Posted by Lachlan

Kill A Celebrity

Ben - Vocalist of Kill A CelebrityKill A Celebrity have put up FOUR sensual new tracks of Australian grinding violence.

They're kinda like the sound of shitting razorblades while vomiting out your eyeballs. Total, agonizing, blasting grind violence for all.

These tracks are going to be used in a 5 way split CD with outstanding Czech grinders Collision and Onanizer later in the year. They were mastered by Tim Carr of Tim Carr Audio, and were recorded and mixed by myself (though I'm not sure thats anything to be proud of).

Two of these songs will also make the now legendary cult-like extremely LIMITED EDITION split with Anal Discharge (details for that will be announced later in the week - suffice it to say they will be available at Anal Discharge's final couple of shows and then never be made available again).

For anyone interested the tracks online are:
- Genocidal Superstar
- The God Delusion
- Dying For Meth
- Burden (Rotten Sound cover)

Violence Against Emos

Posted by Lachlan

Emos - scum

This has to be the best news story of the day. Sourced from this blog:

A bizarre wave of mob emo-bashings is sweeping across Mexico. The movement is being generated on message boards and social networking sites by non-emo youth who highly dislike like the emo look and attitude.

The spark came first in Queretaro on March 7. An estimated 800 young people poured into the city's Centro Historico hunting for emos to beat the crap out of. They found some. The next weekend it spread to Mexico City, where emos faced off against punks and rockabillies at the Glorieta de Insurgents, the epicenter of emo social space in the capital. There's also been reports of anti-emo violence in Durango, Colima, and elsewhere.

The question on everyone's lips right now seems to be, "What the hell is going on?" Been reporting this story since it broke, and we're looking further into it. Updates in the near future.

* New material: Added source links at "More on the emo attacks in Mexico."

And apparently the emos are fighting back (by what... crying? Oh wait not... really, really gay protests defending their right to be emo).
