05 Jul Jess Locke Winter 2013 Residency – Bar 303
After months in hiding the Sydney come Melbourne based songwriter will resurface with new band for a string of Sunday shows at Bar 303 in Northcote. After a fairly domestic year producing laptop recordings and playing unplugged acoustic sets in living rooms, Jess Locke will be returning to the establishment, joined each week by artists from all musical pockets of Melbourne’s music scene.
Expect the intimacy of Locke’s solo shows and recordings, but with more electricity. Not to mention sweet harmonies and beats from new addition Luke Shields (Packbears/Have Hold) along with the dependable Matheson Vaughn (Michael Crafter) on banjo.
Jess Locke has released a series of limited edition home-recordings through bedroom label Lesstalk records, all of which are available for download on bandcamp (jesslocke.bandcamp.com). In early 2012 Locke did her first international tour to South East Asia and is currently working towards the release of a full length album.
14th – Maricopa Wells (solo) + P. Bibby
21st – Pack Bears + The Scrimshaw Four
28th – Toy Boats + Isaac De Heer
4th August – Nathan John Kearney + Ripples.
Music will be from 5pm each week.
