31 Aug TALK LESS – A decade of D.I.Y by Lesstalk Records
“10 years ago I naively started a record label in my bedroom in a small coastal beach town and called it Lesstalk Records, as an outlet to promote and support all the great music my friends were releasing. Over these years the bands changed, medium of art changed but the passion in those same friends is still firing. It is this capability of Lesstalk Records to capture moments in history, a book to commemorate all the great things we have achieved is almost necessary. This coffee table book is aimed to collate a summation of experiences and moments in history from a small slice of the rich DIY punk scene on the east coast of Australia from 2007-2017. I hope this book will inspire others to create their own memories and stamp on life, music and art. “
This coffee table book is a chronological collection of images, artwork, lyrics and quotes from the existence of Lesstalk Records. Bringing together a summation of experiences and moments in history from a small slice of the rich DIY punk scene on the east coast of Australia from 2007-2017.
Lesstalk Records is a long standing DIY label and a best kept secret in the DIY community. With over 70 releases, 15 music festivals and countless tours under it’s belt there was a load of content that was selectively chosen to develop a collectors piece of history.
The essence of a DIY bedroom record label is its ability to document all the great art, lyrics, sounds and songs that came from a small group of individuals or music “scene”. Because of this existence to capture moments in history, this book is also the greatest achievement of Lesstalk Records to date.
