Mushroom Family
Children’s/Folk

When she writes ukulele driven pop music she goes by the moniker Mushroom Family. When she’s enjoying the sound of teeth being tugged loose from gums she’s at work and goes by the name Sharnayla Page. If the occasion calls, Mushroom Family politely informs strangers that her ‘toilet is broken’ before doing anything behind a tree in her purple pyjamas. Her live performance is frequently bitten by Nathan Martin’s sweet teeth.

Edwin MontgomeryEdwin Montgomery
Experimental Music

“It is not only my dreams, my belief is that all these dreams are yours as well. The only distinction between me and you is that I can articulate them. And that is what poetry or painting or literature or filmmaking is all about… and it is my duty because this might be the inner chronicle of what we are. We have to articulate ourselves, otherwise we would be cows in the field.”
Werner Herzog

Delusions of GranduerZounds
Acoustic/Pop/Indie

Zounds is the studio project of Dave Drayton. For a change of pace from previous musical endeavors he sat down with a wider array of instruments and wrote some songs that were a little slower, a little more layered, and entirely self-indulgent. Cheekily titled “Delusions of Grandeur” the debut e.p features five tracks of piano laden acoustic indie pop. They were written late at night after too much wine, with too much time on hand.
Now a 6-piece band Zounds are blowing people minds.

Pop

The (temperamental) Pocket is a pop band.
The (temperamental) Pocket is a project that starts off with simple pop songs and with the use of a full band twists them into something completely different. With so many different influences and characters within the band it can leave the audience feeling confused as to what they had just witnessed.
The (temperamental) Pocket has been off to a quick start with his first gigs already under his belt playing with the likes of Defiance, Ohio, Fear Like Us, Tyre Swans.

They are currently recording their debut album, of stompy confused rock aptly titled ‘I Have Cast’.

Kill A Celebrity
Grindcore

Kill A Celebrity = Grind.
Sydney Grind freak trio make some fucking fast and violent music. Every time I see them they are only getting better and better. Kill A Celebrity don’t care much for political correctness or any sort of tact in their music or lifestyle, openly making enemies wherever they play. Their music makes you want to tear out your eyeballs and fuck your own eye sockets.
To date they have played with some immensely talented bands including Insect Warfare, Captain Cleanoff, Agents of Abhorrence, The Day Everything Became Nothing, The Guantanamo Bay City Rollers, Maximum Perversion, Pod People, Beyond Terror Beyond Grace, Twin City Faction, Rather Be Dead and Dining In Tuscany as well as at Slaughterfest 2007, East West Death/Grind Fest 2007 and Scumfest 2009.

anal discharge live shotAnal Discharge
Grind Punk

Anal Discharge is the greatest emogrind xskateedgex band on the east coast of Australia, creating intense messgrind, skatecore together with a disgust for themselves and the rest of society within that. Anal Discharge are bias but at the same time hate all minorities equally. In their off time Anal Discharge enjoy looking down on people and getting their brown wings. We only take beer donations, if you want us to ruin your 14th birthday party, give us the address 3 days in advance, and we will just show up and steal all your beer, and might play a diddy or two.
Anal Discharge have been on a rad mad burm slide since 2005, born from the seedy underbelly of South Bay. We live to chill, ill, kill, thrill and occasionally play music. We have probably been banned from your favourite venue and/or impregnated your youngest sister. By regularly touring Albury they have grown a very weak interstate fan base of fuckwits. Played with the likes of Savage Garden, Bardot and Nancy Vandal. We have released a demo and a 13 song EP called “Show us where you poo from”.

“Speaking of laughing, I was pissing myself at Anal Discharge. These guys were not playing any form of metal, nor dressing up as metalheads. They did fit in with their pants down shennanigans, but the hilarious bit was how much they made fun of themselves for being gay, having melody and being sloppy but getting away with taking the piss out of the grindcore crowd at the same time. By this time though I was beginning to get drunk.”

good for nothing promoGood For Nothing
Pop Punk

The Good For Nothing revolution took over in late 2003. They started out at the end of year 10 playing gigs at school and loved it so they kept going, drawing influence from the music of their teen years, their style is familiar, their stage show is just ace! The band have been going from stride to stride in forming their patented southbay middlecore brand of dual vocal lead medolic punkrock sound.
Good For Nothing made a self titled demo in ’05 and sold heaps at their gigs. Since then they have recorded several demos. The garage that was their practice room has been transformed into their own recording studio (Cavilier Studios), where they have now created their debut EP ‘Straight to your head’, produced by Pati and mastered at Sonomax Studios.
Good For Nothing have played with some big Aussie bands such as: Unpaid Debt, Something With Numbers, Angelas Dish, Draw The Line, Kid Couragous, Mighty Men Of Steel, Cog, The Dragline Cartel…
Get along to their shows, bring an openmind, a beer drinking belly and your dancing boots cause these cats can shred! peace!

skippy live shotSkippy the Bush Kangaroo
Punk Hardcore Thrash

Skippy The Bush Kangaroo might be a new name to the (central coast/ world), but the individual members of this extraordinary punk/thrash/hardcore group are far from being band virgins; they have all been involved in the central coast music since an early age, and they have all played a major role in a number of previous bands that have stood out in the locally and interstate. These varieties of bands have helped them form a range of influences and they have used this to their advantage to create and single mind on what they like, good music. So who names their band after an Aussie iconic television show? Lead vocalist JP Fung explains – “Dave and I had been talking about starting a hardcore band called Skippy for some time, but when we found out that it had already been taken by several NON-AUSTRALIAN bands, we decided to go with Skippy The Bush Kangaroo instead.”
